Pentax has released its first zoom lens in the 'DA Limited Line' from Ricoh. This is a 20-40mm f/2.8-4 ED DC WR and is also the first weather proof sealed lens they offer. At a 30-60mm full-frame equivalent, this bad boy includes Pentax's multi-layer HD coating to help reduce flare and ghosting. Aluminum grade, the hood, cap and barrel are strong and ready for a long day in the elements. It includes both extra-low (ED) and super-low dispersion glass. The nine-blade diaphragm stops down to a minimum of f/22 to f/32 depending on focal length and is controlled digitally by the camera. This lens is available in a silver or black finish and with its ultra light weight, 10 ounces, you can take it anywhere easily. It will adopt 55mm filters and the lens has a distance scale printed on the barrel and focuses at a minimum of 11 inches. Get one for $997, street or visit www.ricoh-imaging.com for more info.
